Chiropractic Care for Different Health Needs

Feb 12, 2013

Chiropractic care is a type of alternative medicine that is used to help a person achieve overall health. There are several different chiropractic care treatments that are used for various medical conditions and other ailments. Chiropractic care can be used to treat a specific condition or to address general health issues, so like other medical professions, the field has some specialized branches. In terms of treatment, the three main approaches that a chiropractor will focus on are discussed below.

Relief Chiropractic Care

This chiropractic care approach is used to help patients that are suffering from discomfort or pain, and the cause of the pain is not important. The goal for this treatment is to create immediate pain relief, and the treatment duration will depend on the damage that a person experienced and the type of treatment needed to correct the problem.

Maintenance Chiropractic Care

This chiropractic care type is used to sustain other types of treatment that have already been used on a patient that has experienced spinal issues. In certain cases, this type of treatment may be continued even after initial treatments were successful. It can be used to prevent the re-occurrence of a certain condition or injury, and this is especially true for spinal health.

Corrective Chiropractic Care

This area of chiropractic care is one of the most advanced types. It is used when patients have suffered from spinal issues over an extended period of time. This type of treatment is also used with patients that have developed more complicated conditions and for people that have neglected to receive proper treatment. Corrective chiropractic care is a process that typically extends into a long term treatment plan. However, the length of treatment time is usually determined by the type of damage and how a patient is responding to treatment. Visit our chiropractors to learn more about chiropractic care.
